Spending a lot of time on the road honing his act has really sharpened up Ian Moore. This sophomore studio effort is a million miles beyond his debut release, full of thundering rhythms, wailing guitar, and heartfelt vocals. He's playing and singing better than ever, and the fire we heard on Live from Austin has made its way into this new set, which starts off sounding mysterious and suddenly pounds into the tom-tom-driven "Muddy Jesus
Ian Moore (musician). This article is about the musician. For other people named Ian Moore, see Ian Moore (disambiguation). After playing guitar in Joe Ely's touring band and appearing on one studio album, he spent time in Austin with his own groups, first Ian Moore and Moment's Notice, then The Ian Moore Band. While attending The University of Texas at Austin, Moore played in Austin regularly, quickly developing into one of Austin's largest draws. His second record, Modernday Folklore, was voted one of the greatest art moments in Art of America, and led to more high level touring through the US and Europe, as well as his top charting song, Muddy Jesus, which made it into the top 5 AOR rock radio charts. Ian's musical journey has been vast and ambitious.

Modernday Folklore is an awesome album from Ian Moore. While originally known as a blues guitarist, Moore expanded his sound on this album with impressive results. Moore's playing is very fiery blues sounding similar to both Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Jimi Hendrix. But Modernday Folklore isn't just for blues fans as there's much diversity on this album. Every track here is very strong. Blues-rockers such as "Muddy Jesus", "Bar Line 99", and "Train Tracks" are killer highlighting Moore's excellent playing. The difference between this album and his previous two albums is noticeable, but not drastic. There is some great guitar work on this album although Moore's guitar is not necessary in the spotlight on every song.
Ian Moore (born August 8, 1968 in Berkeley, California, USA) is a guitarist and singer-songwriter from Austin, Texas.
