Ross Hammond (born August 10, 1977) is a jazz guitarist and concert promoter. He co-founded the In the Flow Jazz and Improvisational Music Festival, which has been held annually in Sacramento, California, since 2008. Hammond was born August 10, 1977, in Lexington, Kentucky. He moved to Sacramento when he was 10 years old. Hammond started playing guitar, a gift from his mother, two years later. He wanted to play drums, but his mother was in favor of the more portable guitar.
Ross Hammond Quartet: Adored by Troy Collins, published on June 5, 2012. Adored is the debut of Sacramento-based guitarist Ross Hammond's Quartet. Although Hammond's previous recordings have featured an array of configurations (ranging from solo recitals to spontaneous improvisations with various West Coast peers), this date is among the most impressive in his growing discography. For the first time, the relatively young guitarist leads an all-star quartet of respected veterans, including t Vinny Golia, bassist Steuart Liebig and drummer Alex Cline-all notable bandleaders in their own right.
