Pudge was formed in Stockbridge, WI by three brothers in 1996. They were heavily influenced by Grunge, Moldy Oldies, and Classic Rock. Together, they abused their hearing in their parents basement practicing for hours a day. July 1996 they entered Butch Vig's Smart Studios in Madison to record their first . The self titled album was a combination of songs they had recorded but had not yet been included on a full album. The band then went dark only playing a handful of shows a year as the brothers lived apart in different parts of the country. Eventually the band came back together to record the album "Closer to You". Fast forward to 2018 which saw the release of "Open Cuts".
