Текст песни: If you want to get to heaven, let me tell you what to do You gotta grease your feet in a little mutton stew Slide right out of the devil’s hand And ease over to the Promised Land.
For other people named Jack Elliott, see Jack Elliott (disambiguation). With banjo player Derroll Adams, he toured the United Kingdom and Europe. By 1960, he had recorded three folk albums for the UK record label Topic Records. In London, he played small clubs and pubs by day and West End cabaret nightclubs at night. The album was produced by Ian Brennan. Jack said his intention was to title the album Not for the Tourists, because it was recorded partially in response to his daughter's request for songs he loved but never played in concert. When asked why he did not, he told her, "These songs are not for the tourists.

He recorded a couple of wonderful albums with Ramblin' Jack Elliott, and was a pretty fair painter, too. By either design or instinct he kept his distance from the commercial folk and pop scenes, and when he died in his adopted Belgium at the age of 75 in February of 2000, his passing hardly caused a stir in the American music press. Ramblin' Jack Elliott turns in a sturdy version of "The Cuckoo," the type of song he and Adams did so well together as a duo in the late '50s. Donovan's "Epistle to Derroll" is here, as well as Allan Taylor's poignant "Banjo Man," which captures Adams' spirit as clearly as a photograph.
