Features Song Lyrics for Sky Larkin's Motto album.
Sky Larkin is an English indie rock band from Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, who formed in 2005. In common with many bands from Leeds, Sky Larkin released two singles on the Leeds-based label Dance To The Radio.
While still plenty noisy and messy-headed, Sky Larkin sound their most organized on Motto, and the deeper focus they apply to their energetic sounds is what makes the end results work better than any of their previous albums.
I feel better in flight I don't deserve as all I feel better in flight I don't deserve as all Switch it into the light I took a pawn show Went down, went down, went down! I saw what I saw, saw what I saw Did what I did You prolly caught some rephrases. on my lips Well it might turn to motto Well it might turn to motto Well it might turn to motto Well it might turn to motto If I had a motto I would tell you so I never suffered from it like your sex. If I had a motto I would tell you first Ive never suffered from a lack of sensation, just a terrible thirst if I had a motto I would spare you now from the catch phrase of a cash cow. I SAW What I SAW SAW what I SAW DID what I DID with parrot-fashion phrases emitting from my lips from my lips from my lips.
Sky Larkin formed in 2005 with school friends Katie Harkin and Nestor Matthews. After spending their early days appearing alongside bands such as Los Campesinos!, The Organ, Gossip and Wild Beasts, the band caught the attention of Wichita Recordings and subsequently released debut album 'The Golden Spike' to much acclaim in 2009. Two more albums followed - 'Kaleide' in 2010, and 'Motto' in 2013.
Skylarking is the debut studio album by Horace Andy. It was released on Studio One in 1972. Not to be confused with his best album, also titled Skylarking, released in 1996. In 2012, Skylarking was placed at number 16 on the "Top 50 Reggae Albums" list, which was compiled by Jamaican disc jockey Clinton Lindsay and his colleague Marlon Burrell in commemoration of Jamaica's 50th anniversary as an independent nation. In 2014, Mojo placed it at number 43 on its list of the "50 Greatest Reggae Albums"
With third album Motto, they turn in their brightest production that only just barely obscures some of their darkest lyrical moments. Singer/guitarist Katie Harkin wrote a lot of the lyrics while moonlighting with friends Wild Beasts on a massive international tour, and when it was time to return to the writing process for Sky Larkin, she tapped into a specific breed of alienation and despair that mirrored both the intensity and monotony of the tour. It's not always on the surface, but a close listen to opening track "Motto" reveals a downtrodden feeling beneath its cacophonous.
