Graham Nash David Crosby is the first album by the partnership of David Crosby and Graham Nash, released on Atlantic Records in 1972, catalog SD 7220. It peaked at on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, and a single taken from the album, "Immigration Man", peaked at on the Billboard Hot 100 on June 17 and 24,1972. It was certified gold by the RIAA, and it was dedicated to Joni Mitchell, as "to Miss Mitchell".
Neither David Crosby, another original Byrd, nor Graham Nash has ever gotten anywhere near as offensive as Stills at his worst. But then, neither Crosby nor Nash has the capacity to catch fire, as Stills is always threatening to do. These two guys are expert harmony singers, but they swing toward the sweet, light side, and a little sugar generally goes a long way. Separately, they’ve been important but not primary parts of two good groups, and they’ve been responsible for a lot of fine music. Together, they tend to cloy, having almost identical weaknesses.
Album · 1972 · 11 Songs. Any ‘70s canyon-rock enthusiasts who just can't get enough of Graham Nash's earthy epic solo debut Songs for Beginners, or David Crosby's moody masterpiece If I Could Only Remember My Name are sure to find a familiar warmth in the compositions that comprise 1972's Graham Nash & David Crosby. The C and N of CSN&Y sing every one of these songs with their trademark velvety voices, blending them together like chocolate and peanut butter.
Taken beyond face value, Graham Nash/David Crosby is a direct reflection, if not an extension, of the musical and personal relationship between its co-creators. Likewise, the results remain true, enhancing rather than detracting from the very individualistic styles of Crosby and Nash.
Produced by Graham Nash & David Crosby. Album Whistling Down The Wire. How come you ask me what I'm doing here With my guitar in hand I'm at the microphone stand I think the reason should be very clear You see the spotlight, it's for a good night. Something happens to you And the same things happen to me So if I sing about the places that you've been to You can see them once again through me But it's only me.
