Clues is the sixth solo album by Robert Palmer, released in 1980. It has a rockier, new wave edge compared to his previous releases. The album peaked at number 59 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart and No. 31 in the UK in 1980. The album also peaked at No. 1 in Sweden, No. 3 in France, No. 15 in the Netherlands and No. 42 in Italy.
The discography of Robert Palmer consists of fourteen studio albums, three live albums and eleven compilation albums. On 24 January 2012 Culture Factory an independent label reissued Some People Do What They Like, Double Fun, Secrets and Pride in a miniature replica of the original vinyl packaging and with remastered sound. The reissues also had miniature "obi's" and the label on the CD is a replica of the original label
Secrets is the fifth solo album by Robert Palmer, released in 1979. It includes "Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)" which peaked at No. 14 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1979, and a remake of the Todd Rundgren song "Can We Still Be Friends", which peaked at No. 52 in 1980. The album peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 and No. 54 in the UK Albums Chart in 1979. Palmer also scored a hit single with "Jealous" which rose to No. 31 in Canada. 42 in Italy Palmer, who played percussion on Talking Heads' Remain in Light, had the favour.

After recording a series of albums that established him as a pop-minded interpreter of soul styles, Robert Palmer surprised fans in 1980 with the stylistic about-face of Clues. The end result became a big hit in the . and paved the way for later international successes like Riptide and Heavy Nova.
